◆Introduction

Department of computer science and technology opened in 1982. We won the second-class master's degree granting right of computer application technology in 1998. We were approved by the Ministry of education as the "first-class disciplines of computer science and technology" in 2010. We passed the assess of computer application technology Beijing key construction disciplines, and were rated as excellent in 2013. We got the "computer technology" Engineering Master's degree granting right at the same time. We established the Beijing Technology and Business University undergraduate teaching comprehensive reform demonstration in 2014. There are 14 full-time teachers, including 2 professors, 7 associate professors, 5 lecturers in the department, while 11 people have doctorates. In recent years, the professional team of teachers hosted more than 60 scientific research projects and more than 20 provincial and ministerial level projects. We published more than 200 papers and 10 academic monographs. The scientific research has been widely used in related enterprises. The professional orients financial and business as well as the Internet, emphasizing the combination of programming ability, financial and other modern service industry knowledge. We improve the systematical ability and practical ability of students, involving the engineering practice during the teaching. We train the professional skills, consciously cultivate students’ engineering thinking, to make students to meet the needs of the society.

◆Goal

The goal of major is to adapt to the country, especially the capital of economic construction and social development needs, students graduated from major of computer science and technology will master a solid computer science theory, and with modern humanities, business and financial literacy. We also cultivate students' sense of social responsibility, innovation, practical ability and international perspective.

Graduates are suitable for the design, development, management and maintenance of computer application systems, as well as data analysis and mining in the Internet and IT companies, banks, insurance, securities and other financial institutions, government departments, enterprises and institutions.

◆Characteristic

CST focuses on the design, management, development, data analysis and application of business, finance and internet. Targeting on mobile Internet, enterprise, data analysis and processing, CST emphasizes the ability of students' computer system and the knowledge of large data analysis field, and the ability of combing computer theories and application.

CST introduce foreign advanced teaching system, curriculum and training projects, and establish a number of collaborations that will allow students to pursue degrees abroad or exchange visits abroad.

CST focus on training students’ practical ability, team cooperation and innovation ability. Through engineering training and practice, students can strengthen practical ability, professional accomplishment and employment potential.

C/C++ programing language, Object-Oriented Programming(Java), Discrete mathematics, computer systems, computer architecture, data structure, algorithm design and analysis, operating systems, computer networks, database theory and design, software engineering, financial analysis and data mining, computer graphics, data analysis and visualization

◆Computer Project Development Practice

4 levels practice program: curriculum experiment, curriculum project, Final Year workshop training, final project, which are used to enhance programming and algorithm design abilities.

Graduates majoring in computer science have extensive finance, business and Internet background and have the ability of computer system design, management and development, data analysis and mining. With perfect quality, strong working ability and wide adaptability, the graduate students are well accepted by the society. Graduates may serve as system programmers, application programmers, project manager, consultants and data analysts about business, finance and Internet.

The Department of computer science has established several of modes of Chinese-foreign cooperative education with many well-known universities, such as University of Cork, University of Wisconsin, Northern Illinois University, HAMK University of Applied Sciences etc. Some graduates can obtain the opportunity to study post-graduate stage exempt from admission exam and to qualify as post-graduate students in Tsinghua University, Peking University, the Chinese Academy of sciences, University Cork, University of Wisconsin etc.

The main units of graduate employment are the Chinese State-owned Commercial Banks, Software and Integrated Circuit Center of Ministry of Information Industry, National Safety Administration of Beijing, China Electronics Technology Group Corporation, China Aerospace Science& Technology Corporation, Microsoft, Baidu, Yonyou, Accounting Centre of China Aviation, Beijing Wangfujing Department Store Group etc.
