Professor Zhang Zhiyong gave an academic report called "research, development and application on multimedia social networking " in our school

On the afternoon of May 22, Prof. Zhang Zhiyong, director of the Department of Computer Science, School of Information Engineering, Henan University of Science and Technology, was invited to give a talk entitled "Research, Development and Application of Multimedia Social Networks". The talk was chaired by Prof. Cai Qiang, Dean of the School of Computer and Information Engineering. Vice Dean of School Liu Xinliang, the Discipline Leader in Computer science Li Haisheng, and more than 30 teachers and graduate students attended the lecture.

Professor Zhang Zhiyong first introduced the development of multimedia social network technology, as well as the typical application and existing problems. And then he discussed the multimedia social network security, group assessment and contextual perception of multimedia computing. Finally, a multimedia social network platform prototype system was analyzed. In addition, Professor Zhang also talked about how to balance the relationship between academic research and project practice. He believed that academic research results can guide the project practice and project practice can also promote academic development. These two is a mutual promotion, complement each other.

 After talk, the students were very interested in this area and asked questions enthusiastically. Professor Zhang Zhiyong answered the students' questions patiently and shared his own understanding of the development trend of social multimedia computing. The talk was ended in the warm applause of the teachers and students.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Prof. ZHANG Zhiyong, Ph.D., Distinguished Professor of Henan province, the director of the Department of Computer Science, School of Information Engineering, Henan University of Science and Technology. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Architecture, Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology. After that, he worked as a postdoctoral research fellow in School of Management, Xi'an Jiaotong University and Department of Computer Science in State University of Iowa. His research interests include multimedia content security and soft computing, social networking analysis, mining and group computing, etc. He has served as an editor, associate editor or guest editor of Elsevier, Springer and many other SCI international journals. He is IEEE senior member, ACM senior member, national audio, video and multimedia systems and equipment standardization technical committee.

Forum for Young Scholars was jointly organized

At 15^th April 2017, Forum for Young Scholars was jointly organized by Beijing key laboratory of Big Data Technology for Food Safety and Big Data Technology for Food Safety synergy innovation center of School of Computer and Information Engineering.

 
The forum, moderated by professor ChenYi and professor Yu Chongchong, invited six prominent scholars to deliver a speech, including professor LuoXun from Tianjin University of Technology, LiHui, a doctor of Analytical Chemistry, to over100 attendees.

 
Fang Deying, the deputy president of BTBU, addressed the audience, giving praise to the forum and its significance concerned to BTBU and the two organizers. It’s hoped that this forum could promote communication and cross-disciplinary innovation, boost scientific spirit and research method, ultimately making contribution to the development of the university.

Zhang Xiaotang, the director of technology department, spoke highly of the significance of the technology platform campaign and the role that the organizer has been played in this information and intelligent society. He hold that the big data technology for food security would be an indispensable part of life in future. With that in mind, it was of great importance for all the students and scholars to have the incentive to devote himself in academic and scientific research.

The first session of the forum was on the big data technology, offering three remarkable speeches from Professor LuoXun from Tianjin University of Technology, Professor SongYing from Beijing Information Science and Technology University and Huang Jianhui, director of Hebei Food Inspection and Research Institute. The second session discussed food testing technology from different angles, at which professor Chen Lanzhen from Institute of Apicultural Research, CAAS, Doctor TaoSha from College of Information and Electrical Engineering of China Agricultural University and Doctor Mao Xuefei from Institute of Quality Standard and Testing Technology for Agro-products of CAAS gave anther three professional presentations to audiences.
