Industrial Economics Program, originally called Commercial Economics Program with the longest history at BTBU, began to enroll students in 1979 and had its first graduates in 1981 approved as Commercial Economics Master and later renamed as Industrial Economics Master in 1997. This program became the Key Discipline of the former Ministry of Commerce in 1997 and it has been the Key Discipline of Beijing since 2003. Some tutors or mentors are famous nationwide and act as part-timer in social associations and agencies. The employment rate of graduates is 100% every year. The employment units include government departments, banks and corporations. This program has 3 research directions: circulation industry theory and practice; industrial organization and regulation; futures and options research.
