National Engineering Research Center for Agri-Product Quality Traceability

National Engineering Research Center for Agri-Product Quality Traceability is a national-level scientific and technological innovation platform managed under the new sequence by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and constitutes an important part of the national innovation system. Its predecessor was the National Engineering Laboratory for Agri-Product Quality Traceability, approved for establishment by the NDRC in 2017. The Information Technology Research Center of the Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences (formerly Beijing Research Center for Information Technology in Agriculture) serves as the undertaking unit, co-founded by Beijing Technology and Business University, the Institute of Quality Standard and Testing Technology of the Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences (formerly Beijing Research Center for Agricultural Quality Standards and Testing Technology), China International Electronic Commerce Center, and GOHIGH Software Technology Co., Ltd. It passed the acceptance check in February 2021. In 2021, the NDRC carried out two rounds of optimization and integration for the existing 349 national engineering research centers and national engineering laboratories. After strict evaluation, only 191 were approved to be included in the new sequence management of "National Engineering Research Centers," with an approval rate of only 54.7%.

The overall goal of the Center is to integrate the quality and safety traceability system with new-generation information technologies such as the Internet of Things, cloud computing, and big data, in order to enhance the informatization level of agricultural and sideline products during the circulation process.
