The delegation from University College Cork of Ireland visited BTBU
On the morning of April 9, Professor Sarah Culloty, Head of the College of Science, Engineering and Food Science at University College Cork, Ireland, and her delegation visited our university. Mao Xinshu, Vice President of BTBU, met with Sarah Culloty and her delegation at the Fucheng Road Campus.

Mao Xinshu welcomed Professor Sarah Culloty and her delegation to visit the university for exchanges. He introduced the achievements of our university in talent cultivation, scientific research, and discipline construction in recent years. He also pointed out that Beijing Technology and Business University and University College Cork have had a profound cooperation relationship for nearly 20 years. The exchanges and cooperation between the two universities have been developing steadily, with increasingly active inter-university exchanges, expanding cooperation scale, and continuously broadening cooperation fields. He looked forward to further deepening the cooperation in the Sino-foreign cooperative education s in the future, continuously expanding the scale of the projects, exploring new cooperation fields and directions, and further promoting the establishment of a comprehensive and in-depth international cooperation platform between the two sides.
Professor Sarah Culloty expressed her gratitude for the warm reception of our university. She introduced the development history of University College Cork, the discipline construction of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, its advantageous majors, and the future direction of international development. She noted that Beijing Technology and Business University is one of the important partners of University College Cork. She looked forward to further deepening the cooperation and exchanges with our university in computer science, food nutrition and health, big data science, etc., enhancing the understanding between the teachers and students of the two sides, and developing and promoting the implementation of more cooperations.

Subsequently, the relevant heads of the School of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, the School of Food and Health, the School of Mathematics and Statistics, and the Office of International Affairs exchanged views on the current international exchange projects carried out by the two sides, and put forward relevant work suggestions on the related projects to be carried out by the two universities in the future.

After the meeting, Professor Sarah Culloty and her delegation also held a project-specific meeting with the School of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, and had in-depth discussions on joint-training s in related disciplines such as computer science and engineering, and software engineering.

In the afternoon, Professor Sarah Culloty and her delegation also held a project promotion meeting for the students of our university. They introduced in detail the general situation of University College Cork and the relevant student exchange projects to be carried out by the two sides, patiently answered the questions that students were concerned about, and had in-depth exchanges with the students.
