On September 3, the Opening Ceremony for 2016 freshmen of Beijing Technology and Business University was held on Liangxiang Campus. The university leaders including Tan Xiangyong, Sun Baoguo, ZhangDeyu, Li Chaoxian, Zhang Yun, Zheng Wenhong, JiaYingmin, Fang Deying, Qiu Xiaoping and Dong Zhujuan, heads of schools and departments, and about 3000 new undergraduates including 13 international students from 11 countries attended the Opening Ceremony.

Hou Jingchuan, the representative of the freshmen, Zhu Lin, the representative of the current students, Associate Professor Gong Yanjue, the representative of BTBU staff members delivered their speeches respectively at the Opening Ceremony, expressing their best wishes to the new students from their different perspectives.

President Sun Baoguo addressed the opening ceremony. He expressed the warmest welcome to freshmen from home and abroad. He introduced the university strategy of “the best undergraduate education” and showed the great expectations to the future of the students.

Prof.Sun also gave the three suggestions to the freshmen. First, study hard, set the goals for themselves, and keep the spirit of the perseverance during the university life. Second, learn to become responsible persons with the power leadership. Third, learn to keep a healthy lifestyle in the daily life. He encouraged the students to be confident in their university life and BTBU will provide good environment and opportunities for them.

BTBU freshmen now have started their college life, and best wishes to them. Hope they could have a fruitful university time in life.
