 Introduction to the Department of Procedure Law

There are eight teachers in the Department, including two professors, four associate professors, and two lecturers. The undergraduate courses include Civil ProcedureLaw, CriminalProcedure Law, AdministrativeProcedure Law, Evidence Law, Practical Legal Clinic, etc. The postgraduate courses includeResearchon Civil ProcedureLaw, Research on CriminalProcedure Law, Research on AdministrativeProcedure Law, Research on Evidence Law, Research on Judicial System, Legal Negotiation, Moot Courtand Legal Clinicetc. The Department is also mainly in charge ofthe Research Centre on Dispute Resolution System. Our teachers participate actively in various academic meetings and have achieved fruitful results in academic research, published many articles in leading legal journals. We have obtained one National Social Science Fund Project and two National Natural Science Foundation Projectsof China, twoHumanity and Social ScienceProjects of Education Ministry, of which two havebeen completed, and the other three arecurrently under research. On students training, the Departmentfocuses not only on students’abilities of mastering basic knowledge and making academic research, but also focuses on their practical abilitiesfor future legal profession, so as to carry out the goalsof our law schoolfor training talents of integrative types.

 

the Department of International Law

At present, there are eight full-time teachers in the Department of International Law, seven of whom have doctorates and four of whom are associate professors. Compulsory courses, elective courses and general studies are mainly offered for undergraduate and postgraduate.Compulsory courses include: International Law, International Economic law, Private International Law. Elective courses include: Maritime law, Transnational Company Law, International Trade Law, International Investment Law,International Financial Law, International Civil Procedure and Commercial Arbitration, etc. General Studies include: History of Post-war International Relations, Banking Law, Enterprise Law, etc. In addition, the students participated in the International Criminal moot Court Chinese Competition and won the third prize under the guidance of the teachers of this department. In recent years, under the guidance of the teachers of this department, students have been admitted to the international law majors of the China Foreign Affairs University, University of International Relations, Beijing Jiaotong University and so on. In the future, the teaching and scientific research of this department will focus on the cultivation of postgraduate, sincethe college has enrolled postgraduate majoring in International Law in 2019.

 

 

Introduction to the Department of Civil and Commercial Law

There are ten teachers in the Department, including four professors, four associate professors, and two lecturers. The undergraduate courses include Civil Law, Commercial Law, Intellectual Property Law, Family Law, Tort Law, etc. The postgraduate courses include Civil Law Research, Research on Property Law, Research on Contract Law, Research on Tort Law, Commercial Law Research, Company and Securities Law Research, Insurance Law Research, Research on Negotiable Instruments Law, Research on Trust Law, and Intellectual Property Law Research, etc. Our teachers participate actively in various academic meetings, including the Civil Law Annual Meeting, the Commercial Law Annual Meeting, the Marriage Law Annual Meeting, the Intellectual Property Law Annual Meeting, and the Insurance Law Annual Meeting, the Securities Law Annual Meeting, etc. In recent years, we have achieved fruitful results in academic research. We have obtained four National Social Science Fund Projects and one National Natural Science Foundation of China, of which two have been completed, all are highly peer-valued, and the other three are currently under research. We have published many articles in leading legal journals, such as Chinese Journal of LawChina Legal Science, and Peking University Law Journal.

 

 

Jurisprudence and Criminal Law department

Jurisprudence and Criminal Law department, formerly known as teaching & research office of legal theoryin law school of BTBU was established in 2013. Currently there are eight teachers, all graduating from top domestic or overseas law schools or universities, such as Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of china, China University of Political Science and Law, Jilin University, with diversified study domain in legal theory, constitutional law, law history and criminal law, etc. The courses provided to undergraduates and postgraduates include jurisprudence, constitutional law, Chinese law history, foreign law history, history of legal thoughts, criminal law, criminology, legal logics, legal English, legal practice and etc. ‘Study Center of Legal Culture was established by our department under the law school. Teachers also take on posts in various national or regional legal study associations, lead or participate in the projects of National Social Science Fund, Ministry of Education FundBeijing Social Science Fund and etc. Our teachers have been awarded various prizes such as Beijing Education Pioneer, Honored Researcher of BTBU, Champion of Teaching Contest, Champion of Speech Contest on Research and etc.

 

 

The Department of Economic Law

The Department of Economic Law has seven faculty members, among whom are one professor and two associate professors. Six of the faculty members have doctorate degrees. The Department’s research team specializes in tax law and financial law.
