2014 International Conference on “International Business and Revitalization of China in the 21st Century” Held in BTBU

From May 21 to 22, 2014, the international conference on “International Business and Revitalization of China in the 21st Century” was held in Beijing Technology and Business University (BTBU). The conference was hosted by the American Institution(AIB)-Northeast Chapter, and co-organized by BTBU and Tianjin Foreign Studies University.

Li Chaoxian, chairman of the conference, Vice Present of BTBU,delivered an opening speech. He pointed out that China has made remarkable achievements in economic development the past 35 years of the reform and opening-up, which was a huge contribution to world economic growth, however, China was still facing many problems and difficulties. He expected that this conference would promote international exchanges in relevant fields through the actual understanding and in-depth study of Chinese economy by scholars and professors from different countries.

Deputy Minister of Ministry of Finance of China, Mr. Zhu Guangyao, as a special guest, delivered a keynote speech on Relationship between Chinese Economy and Global Economy. He introduced the development trends and prospects of the world economy, and elaborated on two aspects, the present situation and development trend of Chinese economy and challenges to the global economy.

Ms. Wangwei, Deputy Director of Institute of Market Economy in the Development Research Center of the State Council, Mr. Zhang Jianshe, Director of the Department of Policy Research of JD.COM, and Professor Paul TiyambeZeleza, Vice President ofQuinnipiac University of the United States, addressed the conference respectively.

After the plenary meeting, representatives attended sub-sessions and made keynote speeches on “Accounting and Finance Subject”, “Marketing and Contemporary Society”, “Entrepreneurs and Economic Development”, “Cross-cultural Communication in the Global Economy”, and “Global Governance” respectively.

On May 22, sub-sessions continued on “Marketing and Contemporary Society”, “Entrepreneurs and Economic Development”, “Global Business Management I”, “Supply Chain Management”, and “Global Business Management II”.Participantsexchanges news on Chinese macroeconomic policy, sustainable supply chain management research, social capital and the management, etc.

Earlier, on the evening of May 20, President Tan Xiangyong of BTBU met with the representatives. He warmly welcomed them and their families to BTBU, with a further introduction of BTBU history, discipline development, major features and the relevant condition of international cooperation. He hoped that the international conference would further promote the cooperation and exchanges among scholars, teachers and students and in all university presented. At the end, he wished the international seminar a complete success.

Conference was attended by more than 40 overseas scholars from the USA, Canada, Mexico, France, Italy and so on, and over 20 professor-level researchers from certain domestic universities and research institutions, and more than 200 teachers and students.
